The short version: the StratoSort desktop application runs on your machine. We do not transmit, index, store, or analyze the documents you point it at. This policy covers the limited information collected through the website and the beta program.
Who we are
StratoSort is a product of Kennedy Applied Sciences, Inc. ("we", "us"). Contact: kennedyappliedsciences@gmail.com.
The desktop application
In standard configuration, the StratoSort desktop application performs file indexing, embedding generation, vector search, and LLM inference entirely on your device. Document content, file paths, embeddings, and search queries do not leave your machine in that configuration.
- Model files are downloaded once from a public model registry during first-run setup. Those downloads are subject to that registry's own policies.
- If you enable any optional cloud feature in a future release, that feature will be opt-in and described in-app before it transmits anything.
- The app does not include analytics, telemetry, crash reporters, or feature-flag SDKs that phone home.
The website
This website is a static page hosted on GitHub Pages. We do not run analytics, cookies, fingerprinting, or A/B testing on it. GitHub may collect standard server-side request logs as described in GitHub's privacy statement. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; Google's font-serving policy applies to those requests.
The beta program
If you email us to request beta access or to purchase a license, we receive the contents of that email — typically your name, email address, role, platform, and the use case you describe. We use that information solely to evaluate the request, send you the installer or invoice, and answer follow-up questions. We do not sell, share, or use it for marketing.
You can ask us to delete the email thread and any contact record at any time by replying to the thread or emailing the address above.
Data we do not collect
- We do not collect, store, or process the documents you index with StratoSort.
- We do not track you across websites.
- We do not place advertising cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA — including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Email us at the address above to exercise any of these rights.
Children
StratoSort is a professional product not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we materially change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify active beta testers and license holders by email.
